My boyfriend is uncircumcised and he has a strange smell when u pull back his fo!

Question:

My boyfriend is uncircumcised and he has a strange smell when u pull back his foreskin. I know it isnt smegma.

What could it be? He just came from the shower. I was about to give him oral sex, but the smell got in the way. No bumps or swelling...what could it be??

Answers:

Ask him if he pulled it back and washed it. It shouldn't smell, mine hasn't had that problem and I just wash once when I shower.

As for the one that said to get circumcised, why should he? Studies (including new ones) have continuously found that circumcision reduces pleasure/sensitivity in the long run since the head always rubs, and makes masturbation more difficult. Oddly enough, that's how it was promoted here in the USA back when masturbation was 'bad'. Now we're the last advanced nation still doing it and our rates are also falling. Circ rates are as low as 14% in some states now.

I know it may sound silly, but some guys were never told to pull back the foreskin and wash the head when they shower (especially if his dad is circumcised, for example). It's a really simple thing that keeps it clean. It takes a few seconds and feels good. Just mention that. If it smells fishy it may just be dry ejaculate from the last time he masturbated. If he has any problems, e-mail me from my profile and I'll be glad to help. =)

B20Mac, actually, those links aren't biased; they're from the British Journal of Urology (as the links from Blackwell Synergy point out = BJU). The others come from the National Institutes of Health, which is a US government health institution, as noted by the .gov address. I challenge you to find a single study that finds that there is an increase of sensitivity in circumcised guys or that masturbation is easier for circumcised guys, directly from a medicine journal. ;) The only case where that may happen is if the foreskin was somehow too tight to move at all.
