Phimosis??!

Question:

Phimosis??

Hi im 19 years old and i think i have a mild case of phimosis... for as long as i could remember i could never pull back my foreskin over the head... now a days though, i can retract it whenever im flaccid but i cant when im hard.. i can only go about half way before it starts to hurt... the foreskin opening is 2.5-3cm when hard.. i want to know if itll go away with time when i finish puberty, while doing stretches and masturbating as well... and 1 last question can i still have intercourse?? i think it would be painful..
Thanks for your time

Answers:

Phimosis may go away by the end of puberty, but at your age that doesn't seem too likely a possibility.

The best bet to resolve your phimosis is to do the stretching exercises. In one stretching exercise, take 2 fingers (1 from each hand), "hook" each finger on either side of the foreskin opening, and stretch as much as possible in opposite directions (like increasing its radius) without pain or discomfort. Stretch and hold for a few seconds, then let it relax for a few seconds, the repeat the process again for a few minutes each day for a few weeks to a month. It's best to do these exercises right after a shower/bath when the skin's most flexible (see link 1 for more info).

If that doesn't seem to work after a month, ask a doctor about certain creams. In one study, these creams are the most cost-effective treatment a doctor can prescribe (link 2). These creams may take up to a month to get the full effect, but you can speed it along a little by combining the creams with the stretching exercises.

Since your phimosis is so mild, these 2 treatments are really all that's necessary (see remaining links for more info on phimosis); anything further (such as circumcision) would be overkill.

Masturbation and moving the foreskin around a bit might help loosen it a bit futher, but won't do too much on its own. And while you can have intercourse, it might not feel as good as it would otherwise (without the phimosis) and if you're too rough, it will probably hurt. I hope this info helps and good luck with whatever you try.
