What can cause swelling in my fingers and toes in winter..?
Every winter they swell up and it hurts when i touch them..i know the cold does this but its not normal and doesnt happen to anyone else so i was just wondering what else can cause it?..thanks

Luv Dr., you could very well either be eating more salt in the winter times than you realize, or you may very well have "Rheumatoid Arthritis".... I have this type of arthritis, and whenever I take my walks, my feet will always become very swollen to the degree of discomfort! Later the swelling always goes down, but it takes a few hours, for this to happen. Your's could be a number of things. It could be "Poor Circulation" in your legs. Or it could be the Rheumatoid Arthritis, or too much salt intake. Or the cold wheather may even be having some sort of an effect to your feet. You could always pay your physician a visit to have him/her run some tests on you. That would help you to relax a bit more, knowing what it is, you know.
