Coach --

Also search for "Coital cephalalgia." It is a REAL condition that seems to be at least somewhat treatable. Talk to your doctor about this. A medication that you can take prior to activity can be prescribed. It seems that the more I read about it online, the more mention of it being a form of migraine. I had one occurrence of this type of headache many years ago. It scared me! I seriously thought that I'd strained something at the base of my skull -- maybe blew an artery. Ever since then, I've noticed slight protrutions on either side of my vertebrae at the base of my skull. I've even had an MRI to make sure that I wasn't developing a tumor (I had a cancer tumor removed from my femur when I was 23, so I tend to be a little on the panicky side when it comes to severe pain). I do have migraine headaches that seem to be more frequent with stress. The pain is similar to what I felt that one time I experienced coital cephalalgia.

Here is an article about a research study where they gave the patients a medication called propranolol hydrochloride.

Here's a Q&A about it: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/heartandb...

Do you have high blood pressure? Have you had migraines? Do you get regular exercise? It seems that these things might be related. Again, I would definitely seek the advice of a doctor to 1) rule out something more serious than benign coital cephalalgia and 2) obtain treatment so that you can enjoy your life and not be in pain!

I sincerely wish you the best of luck!!!
