Can someone give good tips on how to build Muscle?!

Can someone give good tips on how to build Muscle?

recently i Joined a gym at a nearby communty center. But they have limited machines. Some include: elliptical machine, one for back muscles, and another for thigh muscles. And another that seems to be "bench press" except its vertival rather than horizontal. What are some simple other exercises I can do to build muscles? I am 19 and about 150 LBS, how many number of sets should I for certain muscles. The one I do for my Thigh is 130lbs, 6 sets of 20. But for bench, 3 sets 11 lifting 30 Lbs.

i weight lift at my school and can now bench press 105 and squat about185 and what you need to know is that you should first find out how much weight you should be lifting start with a 5 pound weight and lift it above your head after 15 times if this is easy then get 10 don't start to high or to low or you will tire out

another important fact is to work out with someone else and you don't need machines frankly i find machines boringggggg! so just get a bar and weights run do squats curls leg presses use the bench ect.
