Does pushups have any effect on biceps, triceps? I mean?

in terms of getting bigger? Maybe slightly?


Answers:

Pushups have virtually no effect on biceps but strongly impact the triceps, pectoralis (chest) and deltoids (shoulders)... but as far as getting bigger they wont have as much impact per se as doing benchpresses. To get bigger/stronger, you want to keep the amount of reps you do between say 6-10 per set. Once a person gets proficient in doing pushups, they can usually do many more than this and the exercise becomes one of toning/conditioning. For size/strength, do benchpresses.
