I would contact your gyno. I had sharp pains in my vagina when I was pregnant, and it felt like someone just shoved a knife up there of something, I know, TMI, however, my doctor told me it was normal and a condition called "vagina knives:" which comically, is exactly how it felt. I really have no idea though if this can occur outside of pregnancy, but i do know that the office will want you to take a pregnancy test sometimes before an appointment, just to rule it out.
