What are the little white spots that sometimes appear under your fingernails?!

Question: I heard that you get them when you get sick, then they just move up the nail as it grows out. Anyone know?

calcium deficiency.

i heard they show up there when you smash your finger in a door or somthing and it appers there. but yes they do move up when your nail grows and eventually go away if u cut ur nails.

it's just a fingernail bruise. when you hit it real hard on something it causes a "bruise" but it's actually more like an air bubble. But its not technically air. It's nothing to worry about. Sometimes I get them and I just cover it with nail polish.

Amy is right!! Eat more fish

A zinc deficiency. Eat more foods rich in this wonderfull little mineral ........... ie: lean meats, seafood (particularly oysters) wheat germ, pumpkin seeds, eggs.

Zinc is essential for protein synthesis and collagen formation and it also acts as an overseer ensuring the efficient flow of body processes and the maintenance of enzyme systems and cells within the body. Zinc will also restore loss of taste, promote growth and mental alertness and help reduce length and severity of colds.

GOOD LUCK

CHEERS
?

yes, amy is right...
when you lack calcium, white spots appear.

you can just think of them kind of as a scab only under the fingernail you get them from hitting your finger against something or anything that might injure your finger/ fingernail
and yes they will grow out and away with your nail and it is nothing to worry about
