It depends if she needs some catch up shots or not. She has no reason to be scared at all.

She may be getting immunized against meningitis, a nasty disease that young adults and teens are especially vulnerable to. Up to 25% of youth that get meningitis will die, and another 25% will have serious consequences from having it like requiring an amputation, permanent hearing loss or brain damage.

She may get the Tdap vaccine, which protects her against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Diphtheria can damage your heart and nerves and kills one out of every 10 people who get it. Tetanus is life-threatening also and causes severe muscle spasms and difficulty breathing. Pertussis (AKA whooping cough) can also be life-threatening and causes severe breathing difficulty and violent, uncontrollable coughing.

She may get the HPV vaccine, which will protect her against the human papillomavirus, which causes cervical cancer.

Obviously all of these immunizations are very important. What's worse... a pinch from a shot that lasts a millisecond or ending up extremely ill in the hospital at risk of dying? The anxiety leading up to getting a shot is much worse than the shot itself. These shots are usually given in the upper arm.

When I was 13, I got...

-Hepatitis A

-Chicken Pox (Renewal)

-Meningitis

they were all on my upper-arm

all the ones that the govement offers

Measles, Mumps, Rubella and every 10 years Tetanus, diphtheria. In the arms.
