DID anyoneone else ever have a fatal disease?!

Question: I had a slowly progressing fatal disease once that they found a treatment for. Has anyone else had this experience?

How long were you hoping for a breakthrough for?
Has it changed the way you look at life?

I did believe t or not!
Peritonitis which remained unchecked for a few days, so by the time I was finally gotten to hospital, the priest was there ready to offer the last unction. But I survived the situation. Twice by the way. I have a very resilient constitution. Not to be funny in lieu of your experience, but until I came to this country at3 and some months years old, I used to chase D.D.T. trucks, because I loved the smell of that purple-lish smoke issued from the vehicle. (It was a National Sport for Children!)
I was not waiting for a breakthrough, since it was a hit or miss situation.
As for changes in my life, well, not really any which would have made a difference . . I've always been of balloon-way-up-in-the-air temperament . . pretty cheerful about Life, that is, so I suppose, fatal disease or no, I'm pretty much, an Alice in Wonderland kind of creature!
After all, what is there t be afraid of. Life will end in death . . after that we really have no clue . . so why fret anything. Just go into it, if you come through, good, if not, Mr. Bonkers will have to wonder why one says sorry to the bereaved. And we don't want him to strain too much!!!
Of course, if you were to ask my family if they'd feel bereaved after my death, chances are they'd say : did you say bereaved, or relieved?
So... Grecia.

A fatal disease would indicate ...death. So not many people (no one) can say theyve 'had' one....you can 'have' a fatal disease.. if you 'had' one you would be resting in peace....

Im sure there are many who are in remission of sorts, but an outright cure, is just a hope for most.

Glad they found a cure or a treatment to improve quality of life, for whatever was your condition.

Sorry no alien abduction stories, although I almost fell off a cliff once...karmic leasson, dont sit on the edge. Emergency surgery doesnt count, umm I thought I was dying with a hangover yesterday, to recover is bliss. I doubt I leant anything...love the question though.

Oh by the way, LIFE is a fatal .....
