Small hemarage behind eye does your eye hurt?!

Question: If you are talking about one that is caused from diabetic retinopathy, no this does not hurt. But you would notice blood in your vision and it moves when your eyeball moves. This is different from floaters, which any one can get. This can really mess with your vision and must be taken care of by an eye specialist.

Diabetes usually causes hemmorhage of the retinal blood vessels. If the condition is serious, it is diabetic retinopathy. The treatment can include an argon laser cauterization of the "leaking" blood vessels. This prevents the blood from going into the source of your central vision, the macula. If blood gets in your macula, this results in blindness. During the laser treatment, you can feel a "popping" sensation and this can be attributed as pain for the patient. You can learn more by googling diabetic retinopathy or consulting with a retinal specialist.
