I would try a salt water gargle (gives it a good clean) I would not use any mouthwashes, as they contain alcohol and can be even more drying. Drink plenty of water. You probably have a viral infection. If you get a fever or start to have a really sore throat, you really will need to go to a doctor to get tested for strep throat. You don't want to let that go, as it can have other side effects. Good luck. Hope you feel better soon, but I would not worry.

jus be glad u dont get elephantitis..look up images on google

i had that 2 weeks ago. it was strep throat. your throat is going to get reeeally sore. go to the doctor asap for some antibiotics. there is nothing that you can do. you need a doctor. By the way, dont touch those dots in the back of your throat. it will spread. and that hearing problem...i had that. the pain was so intense that i had an earache. after you get the antibiotics, your throat wont hurt anymore after a day or so. good luck :)

could be tonsilitis, could be strep throat, could be a number of things. no way to tell on yahoo answers. go to the doctor if symptoms don't improve.

it could be strep you should get it checked out

tonsolitis is red my dear... white spots usually indicate a std. Have you been sucking dick lately?

It could be strep which is serious if it's not treated. See your Dr.

Sound like some sort of virus probably just need Antibiotic

Strep throat causes white spots on your throat. Gargle with warm salt water til you can get to doc.

I am sorry, right now a doctor would be your best option. If more spots appear, go see a doctor ASAP... Because, I did a report on strep throat and scarlet fever for health class, describing the differences and similarities, and, as I cannot remember everything about it, I know strep throat causes dots on the back of the throat... And, if not treated correctly or well, strep throat can develop into scarlet fever... Although that wouldn't be a very common thing to worry about...

Could be strep throat..go get checked, it's only gonna get worse!

You could have tonsil stones where food gets lodged in the tonsil craters. Try gargling real good after eating. I use a water pick and flush my tonsils each morning because occasionally have this problem. Good luck....

Unless it gets really painful and swollen to where you can't swallow or breathe, just wait it out. It might be thrush or a bacterial thing... only a doctor could say. I had white dots once, saw the doctor, and he just sent me home and said not to worry. I lived. You'll probably be fine. :-)

It is not tonsilitis. It is strep throat. You need to go get an antibiotic before it gets worse. Strep can get very painful like your throat is on fire after time. I ought to know....I used to get it all the time.

I would say that it's strep throat as well. I get it about 2-3 times every year in the winter, and I get white spots in the back of my throat. Get to a doctor as soon as possible because you will start to feel worse until you're on antibiotics!

You should be drinking lots of water. Everyone should for that matter.

Get some humidity into your house. This time of year, furnaces go one, it gets dry in our homes. I have one in living room (set on low) and one in our bedroom (set on low). At night turn off humidifier before you go to bed. 45 Min's. before going to bed turn humidify er on in your bedroom. You won't wake up with such a dry throat.

Anyway, you could a small fungus in the back of your throat. Antibiotics should take care of the problem. No big deal.
Go to your Doc and have him/her take a look at it. It may not be a fungus. That's for your Doc to determine.
