If you rub Vicks on her feet and put her socks on she will stop coughing...I am serious it works.

If it is a productive cough you don't want it to stop. Coughing after all is the bodies reaction to mucus in the airway. If it sounds "wet" and it seems like she is getting something up just put up with it.
You may need to see the pediatrician again if it is a dry hacking cough which often results from an irritation in the throat
Cough is a protective reflex that clears the throat and the airways. That's why stopping the cough with medications is not such a good idea.
When you stop a cough with medications. Then eventually you may end up with pneumonia, which is a lot more serious than a cough.
