Bad headaches and high blood pressure?!

Question: BP runs high, up to 215/130, severe headaches for days, wake up with them and usually cause nausea and/or vomiting. I don't have any insurance right now so it isn't so easy to just go and get checked out. Could I have an aneurysm or a stroke from this? It is a little scary. I'm 50, menopausal, non-smoker, non-drinker, overweight and I don't need to hear that sermon. I just need to know if there is anything I can do for the short term until my insurance starts in a week or so.

Who cares if you don't have insurance!!!! You can not put a price on your life! See someone NOW! What you are describing is very dangerous. I had a BP of 190/120 and Dr.'s were concerned I might have a stroke... thankfully, I did not and my headaches and nausea subsided. ( my high bp was due to stress/ eclampsea after child birth). You are at HIGH risk or stroke and even death. Hospitals can not deny you medical treatment. GO TODAY!

Hope you get well soon!!!

Wow, that is extremely high. Reduce the stress in your life, if there is any. I would tell you to go to the ER immediately, but you said you don't have insurance. But, then again, do you want to live or die? High-blood pressure can cause a heart attack, considering it's that high. Yes, you can have both an aneurysm or stroke. Get it checked out, don't worry about the money right now.

215/130 is considered a hypertensive emergency meaning you should be hospitalized and on medications. Maybe you can find a free clinic in your neighborhood which can help you until your insurance starts. This is very serious. You mentioned two possible scenarios, aneurysm and stroke which can occur if your BP is not treated. Good luck and please take care of yourself.

Anyone can have a stroke. My spouse had one two months ago; he is 54. Call the Emergency Room and get advice. Do not delay. Actually, if you have these symptoms for days, you should be seen sooner rather than later because it may be very serious.

You need to see a doctor NOW!!! You are lucky you haven't had a stroke and you may very well be damaging your kidneys and other internal organs with such a high pressure. Go to an ER and get this treated and don't delay.
