probably

Quite possibly - but you are amongst over 1/2 the population who are taking them so you're in good company!

Your doctor gave you this medicen but didnt give you instuctions? all i can say is he isnt a good doc!

Anyways, to answer your question... take the tablets for two weeks and then revisit your doctor for a new test to see if your cheolestral has got back to normal, if it hasnt he should give you a new dose.

Hope not, I had sivastatin tabs & they gave me the runs something rotten.

Yes, but you are in good company, so do a majority of the population, and better than the other option.

depends... i think doctors need to first recommend their patients exercise more often - but also add flaxseed to their diets. Google flax to find out the benefits.. My husband started taking a tablespoon of flax every morning added to his cereal, and it helped lower his cholesterol and also helped him improve his BP... plus it helps with dry skin, and has loads of nutrients that are great for other functions...

I would try that before taking a manufactured drug.. just be sure to let you doc know so that you can track your progress or add a drug if it is truly needed...

good luck!

probably. You also need to cut out all fatty foods- fried food, pastry, cakes, junk food, etc

yes you should it will help control it.

they say yes but I was put on them and thought I had had a stroke as I couldn't move and had pains down one side apparently some people are affected by them causing muscle wasting I think that they try you out on the cheapest one first I have not been back to my doctor since I stopped them and I have recovered as with all drugs you get lots of side effects I also take a 75mg coated aspirin daily as do many doctors they say anyone over 50 should be on them as its truly a miracle drug

More than likely

You give neither your age, medical history or cholesterol level. This makes commenting on the decision to give you a statin in the first place impossible. Generalising however statins control and reduce cholesterol only while you take them, so once a decision to prescribe is made, baring side effects the drug is continued lifelong.
