Red bumps on palms of hands and then really bad peeling!?!

Question: For the past couple weeks the palms of my hands have been peeling extemely bad. I get little red bumps/sores underneath the skin and then it seems as if they surface and turn into bubbles and then the really bad peeling occurs. Does anyone know what this could be. I have heard that it was possibly an allergic reaction to something that was coming in contact with my hands frequently and the first thing that came to mind was maybe the shampoo/conditioner I use or maybe even the bar of soap. I have tried applying lotion like every hour for a couple of days but as soon as I stop applying the lotion the peeling continues. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello,
More than likely it is an allergic reaction, check all the soaps/shampoos/toothpastes/cleaners you're using for any possible source. If it is not an allergic reaction, you'll need to consult a dermatologist. Another possible cause would be palmar psoriasis, but this is way more unlikely than an allergic reaction. I would either consult a doctor or change all your cleaning products and if the symptoms persist, then consult a doctor.

I get something similar to that on my feet from an allergic reaction to materials in shoes. My doctor said it was contact dermititis. It is awful, but there are medicines you can put on flare ups. If that is what it is you need to figure out what is causing it. It itches like crazy in my experience though, so if it's not itching it might not be that. I would definitely go to the doctor because I cannot imagine having it on my hands. I am very sorry that you have to go through that.

My dad has somthing like that. When ever he comes into contact with detergents the skin on his hand starts peeling. It's so sensitive that he can't even touch a cloth that may have been used to wash a plate. He also can't use some soaps (particularly cheap ones) that have detergent in them, so he uses soap specifically for sensitve skin instead.
You should probably go to your doctor to find out what it really is, because it's most likely a allergic reaction to something.
