What is Herpes Simplex Virus?!

Question: Herpes Simplex is the more commonly called "cold sore", usually occuring round the mouth and lip area. Herpes Complex, is the more serious of the two, and affects the genital area. Herpes Zoster is commonly known as "chicken pox". There is a commonly held belief that if you contracted "chicken pox" as a child you are immune to the other strains of the virus. I don't know how much truth there is in that but would be interesting to find out. Maybe some virologists on here could help?

the mouth sore may occur if your immunity level is low,if your sick, you can also get this one when kiss an infected persons genitals and you have a cut in your mouth.

hope this helps you

there are two more common types of herpes. one is oral which is called HSV-1. this type of herpes are cold sores which occure around the mouth.
the second one is called HSV-2 or genital herpes which breaks out around the genitals usually in painful blisters or open sores.
u can get genital herpes from not using condoms while having sex with an infected person, sharring towels and possibly bath water if the person has an outbreak.
oral herpes can be transmitted through kissing, sharring utensils, drinks, ciggaretts while they have a cold sore.
both can be passed from mouth to genitals and vise versa. if u need more info please look it up on webmd.com or mayoclinic.com. by the way there is no cure for any type of herpes but there are medications that can help with outbreaks.
