Blood on toilet paper question?!

Question: About a week ago, there's been bright red blood on my toilet paper. There was no pain or any difficulties, so it must've been an internal hemorrhoid.

My dad told me to eat more fibers and drink more water, and so I did. I haven't been bleeding for two days now. If it doesn't bleed anymore, do I still need to get checked? Would that mean it healed?

Thanks

You father gave you some good advice. Be sure, though, if you increase your fiber intake, that you increase your water intake as well. Otherwise, the fiber acts like concrete in your colon, and you certainly don't want that.

Whatever was causing the blood probably did heal, but to be safe you ought to at least call your doctor. He/she may tell you not to worry, especially if you've not had any more bleeding.

You should really go see a doctor, sounds like something is really wrong.

I'm assuming you're a guy? Well, if nothing else happened I am sure you're fine but go to the doctor if it happens again or if you have any other symptoms.

The best thing to do is to go the Doctor. You do not need to run to the emergency room unless it starts again and won't stop. But call today or tomorrow and make an appointment. Rectal bleeding can be from something as simple as hemorrhoids to something more serious like a perforation in the colon wall. It never hurts to be safe in these matters. Good luck.

i wouldn't worry about it just yet, keep your eye on it for a few days and if it bleeds again then see your gp.piles are quite normal, they're blood vessles that swell and can sometimes pop out at the bottom and may break if you strain yourself.id just try to get more fibre and keep regular! i dont think you should panic just yet! there are creams you can get to help shrink them...chemist will help you out

You should go to the Doctor to make sure that you don't have any internal bleeding. Try drinking warm water and or teas before every meal. Cold beverages solidify foods. Warm beverages help break down food to make easier to eliminate with out straining.

It's just your time of the month girlfriend, don't be ashamed it happens to all of us girls.

The bright red color kind of hints that it is a hemorrhoid. They sometimes do and sometimes don't cause discomfort. Definitely increase the fiber (Citrucel is good and does not cause bloating or discomfort like some of the others can). By the mix-in kind to ensure you get enough fluid. Increase your water intake. Did you notice the blood after a strained BM? That's definitely another signal of a hemorrhoid.

When you get the chance, and definitely if it becomes more persistent, talk to your doctor. Sometimes the fissures need to be taken care of by surgical means.
