Your blood sugar reading is normal. So is your A1C. I don't usually wake up to use the bathroom during the night, but if something disturbs my sleep, my bladder says "GET UP NOW!" I was diagnosed with Type II in January.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you feel excessively thirsty and have changes in your vision or have a hard time staying awake during the day, then I'd worry.

IT is a very simple blood test from your doctor if you are concerned. You also might want to talk to him about why your two year old daughter is not sleeping through the nights :)

It's not how much you're peeing but how much you're drinking.
If you feel you're thirsty all the time, it could be diabetes.

If you know someone who is diabetic, he or she will have a blood glucose meter and would probably be happy to test you. It is really painless, it just takes a small speck of blood from your arm. (You used to have to prick a finger, but now you can get the blood from your arm and it hurts MUCH less).

If the test shows you have elevated blood sugar then you should go to a doctor and get tested for real. It can be a lot of things, and only the real blood tests can tell. But a glucose meter will give you an idea.

Frequent urination can be a symptom of diabetes, but it can also be a symptom of drinking a lot of fluids. If you're drinking a lot, especially right before you go to bed, it's perfectly natural for you to have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Do you have any other reason to believe to might be diabetic? Have you had your blood test recently? It's generally a good idea to get a blood test every year, and it's not just about diabetes. If you had one recently and they didn't say anything about diabetes, then your blood sugar is not elevated.
