My friend had an allergic reaction?!

Question: he thinks its either from eating raisins or shaving. his faced got all red, like he had a sunburn. and just mainly on like his lower face. he got it after eating lunch (when he ate raisins), but it seems like it would be from shaving being his face. any ideas? if you know what it is, what he can do make it go away? thanksss you.

This is a good question. The real thing to find out here is whether or not he had a true allergic reaction. Was the skin very red and irritated (painful?) or was it very itchy and broke out in hives? Hives is a red rash that is somewhat raised with little papules, and extremely itchy.

If it is the first option (burn and painful) it is probably from shaving. This is also known as razor burn, and a good thick emollient cream like Eucerin or Aquaphor can help take away the irritation. It comes because of inflammation in the skin.

If it is the second option (raised, itchy rash), it is likely to be an allergic reaction. For this, Benadryl is very good at relieving the symptoms, but it can make him drowsy. If he plans to drive or anything like that, he should avoid it. But, other antihistamines will also help, and might not make him as drowsy. Loratidine is an over-the-counter antihistamine that doesn't make people quite as drowsy.

Good luck getting it better.

either shaving burn or take benydril

If it is localized like your friends problem it must be some contact problem.
