Can you get aids from having a sip from someone straw?!


Question: yesterday i had a sip of beer from someone straw (he was drinking from a white plastic cup coverded with a top and a straw)
so he offered me a sip,
and since then ive been very worried about if i caught aids
i dont know if he has aids, but... im very worried and scared,
please help,
and what probability from 1 to 10 could i have caught anything ???

There's a very low chance that you've contracted HIV just by drinking a sip from someone's straw. However, the virus can be transmitted if you have an open wound or sore in your mouth. Anyway, it's best not to share drinks with people that you're not familiar with.

You could get it Only if the straw was wet with his spit and you had an open sore on your lip or mouth.

Absolutely NO! Unless the straw had fresh blood on it and you had an open sore on you lip and the blood got into the open sore, and if the blood had HIV there would be a miniscule chance of being infected.

Don't be so weirded out. And don't drink from anyones drink. You are in more danger of getting herpes, influenza, the common cold then you are of getting AIDs
