Tell him to keep going if he wants to lose a leg and hobble around like a peg leg pirate. I have type 2 diabetes, follow my diet exactly, run 4 times a week, and take medication. However, I cannot get my numbers right no matter how hard I try. Yes, I am sure his symptoms have a lot to do with diabetes. I am sorry that you are so worried about him, but this is something that he should be doing. You and the doctor cannot do it all for him because it all boils down to self-control. I hate that he is doing this to you.

he could just be reacting to not being able to eat all the things you can. Try to help him out and do the same as him, and take him in to see the doctor about those spots.

chemical imbalance

has he been taking all of his medication?, because someone i know had the same problem and it only happened when they stopped taking their medication.
those brown spots might keep turning darker and the skin will break soon after. u have to wash it with saline water and hyhrogen proxide. then keep wrappped in bandage, like guaze.

Ok -

Your husband is craving sugar because his blood sugar is out of control. He gets cranky when his blood sugar goes low because it is REALLY not very fun at all, it makes you anxious, sweaty, shaky, and all you can think about is getting something to eat. You should go to the doctor with him and see what the doctor says. If his blood sugar is under control, then his doctor would be seeing him about once every 6 months. If it's not under control the doctor could be seeing him as much as every week.

People with diabetes can end up having MAJOR problems with circulation, which means that any small injury to a foot or hand can become infected very easily and takes a LONG time to heal. That's how people end up having to have things amputated, because the infection spreads too much.

You need to go with him to the doctor and become involved with his care. If he doesn't want you there, you need to tell him that you love him, and his health is YOUR business too, because you're the one that's going to have to take care of him later if he doesn't get it under control.

Some of the other things that can be caused by diabetes - Blindness (permanent), Clogged arteries, heart attacks, strokes, amputations, as well as problems sexually.

It's important to get as much control over it as possible. Good luck!
