shut the hell up the person asked if you were taking it or knew of anyone who took it! damn it READ THE QUESTION! i hate dumb people! especially those that believe everything that the government tell them...there have been people cured from taking it and eating it. if you don't know and you are IGNORANT then that's your choice to be dumb. leave those people who are seeking the real truth alone! die from your cancer and leave us who wanna heal do what it takes even if its taking a vitamin you know nothing about and don't even believe in!

hi there right if I'm not mistaken B17 is latril (excuse spelling) and is supposed to be very good at combating cancer. found naturally in apple seeds and inside the stones of peaches. i suggest you go to a sight called "the truth campaign" Ivan works hard to get this info out there. its amazing how it works. also look into essiac. again Ivan will help you.

No I do not know anyone who's taken it.

There is no such vitamin as B17; it was invented to give credibility and respectability to Laetrile, a scam claiming that apricot kernels can cure or treat cancer. There is not a scrap of evidence that it works, and much evidence that it doesn't.

It is also dangerous as it contains cyanide. This doesn't matter tothe people who sell it - wherever there is cancer there are charlatans waiting to make money out of vulnerable people.

Please be wary of unsubstantiated 'testimonials' claiming miracle cures; you have no way of knowing whether the person ever had cancer in the first place, much less that they are 'cured', or even still alive

There is no recognized scientific Vitamin called B17 . . it is a made up name for laetrile (amygdalin) . . and the active ingredient in laetrile is a deadly poison called cyanide.

No documented cases exist where using laetrile (B17) has ever cured any type of cancer.

The reason no one can answer this question is because no one has ever taken it and had it work. Those who risk using it also risk the side effects of cyanide poisoning.

The following has been reported from these 2 clinical trials about the use of laetrile in patients with cancer:

"The first trial, a phase I study, tested doses, schedules, and ways to give amygdalin in 6 cancer patients. Researchers found that amygdalin caused very few side effects when given by mouth or intravenously. Two patients who ate raw almonds while taking amygdalin, however, developed symptoms of cyanide poisoning.

In 1982, a phase II study with 175 patients looked at which types of cancer might benefit from treatment with amygdalin. Most of the patients in this study had breast, colon, or lung cancer. Amygdalin was given by injection for 21 days, followed by oral maintenance therapy using doses and procedures similar to those in the phase I study. Vitamins and pancreatic enzymes were also given as part of a metabolic therapy program that also included dietary changes. One stomach cancer patient showed a decrease in tumor size, which was maintained for 10 weeks while the patient was on amygdalin therapy. In about half of the patients, cancer had grown at the end of the treatment. Cancer had grown in all patients 7 months after completing treatment. Some patients reported an improvement in their ability to work or do other activities, and other patients said their symptoms improved. These improvements, however, did not last after treatment ended."

NCI: Laetrile/Amygdalin

Please understand that laetrile is not a magical substance . . that if a treatment does not work in a measurable way in 4 to 6 weeks than it probably isn't an effective way to treat cancer. Cancer grows fast . . and a doctor is able to measure tumor size and whether a treatment is shrinking a tumor or whether the tumor is growing during the treatment. In the case of laetrile . . tumors do not die . . nor are they effective in stopping the progression of disease. Those who claim otherwise can provide no documented scientific evidence.
