reasons of high blood pressure:

- Chronic kidney diseases
- Thyroid dysfunctioning
- Adrenal dysfunctioning
- cardiac arteries problems...aorta narrowing.
- Atherosclerosis.
- High salt intake
- Smoking.
- Could be a result of other diseases like diabetes.
- Obesity.

thats all

drugs & junkfood.

Some things that can cause it are hardening of the arteries (as we get older)..being overweight and of course diet.

Kidney damage from diabetes is another cause.
In many cases the doctor can find no cause.

How does the body regulate blood pressure? There are several mechanisms the body uses, one being the kidneys, they are the most important organs for the longterm control of blood pressure.

The Source " An Introduction to Cardiovascular Physiology" by Prof. J.R. Levick. The section on "Aging" shows the average apparent B/P to rise linearly with age.
The rule of thumb is that your systolic pressure is normal (or average) for your age if it's about "100 + your age"

You'll get lots of static from your doctor, but Levick is sadly, telling the truth and your doctor is wrong.
The good news is, that so-called "high blood pressure"
described by your doctor is quite harmless. Hardening of the arteries does NOT cause hypertension.
It simply doesn't stand up to rigorous scientific examination.

P.S. The thing about "kidneys" is hilarious b*******t.
