What could be causing a month long migraine (no exaggeration)?!

Question: I have had this migraine for about a month. I ended up in the ER after a week of having the migraine because it was so bad that I could barely stand up, open my eyes or bear the sound the AC. Ever since I have not gotten fully rid of it for even a minute. I have gone to a nuerologist (I'm just awaiting the results of the MRI) and a chiropractor (who made things worse). I need to know possibilities because the nuerologist doesn't seem to understand that these are not just normal migraines that go away and come back. They never go away! Could it be pinched nerves or some other nerve condition. I also injured my back several times by landing on my tailbone and when I asked the doc, he said it couldn't be the cause, but I'm still not so sure.
My left arm and leg both hurt along with it. I know it's not a stroke or heart attack, because they already tested it and those don't last this long.
Please give me any ideas so I can research them or hand them to my doc.

I know what you mean. 20 year struggle with them over here ..
Some times it's the trigger. mine can be too much caffeine, or certain vitamins, ( like e or a will do it to me)
I had a spinal block and lost a lot of fluid and that triggered some .. and the heat of the summer ... so dehydration will do it ..
You have to have your eyes checked .. not the wall test, he's gotta look in your eyes so see an eye doctor to rule that out ..
stay away from any alcohol, vinegar etc for a while.

Try to meditate, and stay away from any pain killers if you can, they really just make it worse ... 2 hours of a little better and four hours of much worse ... stay away .. .
Wear dark glasses if you can still go out. Stay away from those fluorescent over head lights, the tv and the computer screen. Keep things quiet, and your blood pressure down .. as best you can ..
good luck

Oh yeah! Aspertame will do it! so will the MSG ..

My boyfriends dad told me about when he first got married he was out of work for a year or two. He would just pass out, had headaches and was sick. It turns out that he was allergic to artificial sweeteners. My cousin gets terrible migraines when she has anything with aspartame in it. If you eat things with artifical sugars that could be it. I am big on what you eat effects you as a whole.

my aunt had the same problem and ended up in the hospital also. she found out that her stress levels were way too high. she had so many things on her mind that her headaches just never went away. the best thing to do is to take a day or two off of work and just relax. take a nice long relaxing bath and get a good a mount of sleep. if you calm down and calm your schedule down some the headaches will eventually slow down until they go away. try not to make your days too hectic.

I think that it could be a pinched nerve my mother broke her neck in a work related accident and she gets head aches like that won't go away for anything. keep pressing go to a different Dr. best of luck

OMG! That's awful. I too suffered from migraines that never went away, then suddenly got even worse migraines. I found that my migraines were diet-related: I gave up chocolate for two years and have permanently given up coffee. I also limit my intake of carbohydrates and don't have migraines anymore (said with crossed fingers).
