Our Ayurveda has a good explanation...stomach needs heat to digest food properly...by cooling it down with cold water..it has to expend more energy to digest food....we need Agni to fire the digestion process...that's another reason why aryurveda prescribes that we also eat freshly cooked food within 1 hour of it being cooked.....most diseases start from the digestive tract..look after it properly for healthy living...
