I get constant sore throats, why?!

Question: You need to work on raising your immune system. Look at your diet...can you eat healthier? Do you smoke...if so stop? Take a good multivitamin along with some extra antioxidants, i.e., Vitamins C, E, A. You might also consider adding a little hydrogen peroxide to your daily mouth wash just before you use it...about half and half. Gargle a little with it each day and it will help keep the bacteria count down in your throat.

Edit: I didn't comment on the tonsil part because so many already had, but people with tonsils are more prone to sore throats. So, no, it is not a joke. Have someone look down your throat and see if the tonsil appear swollen, red, is there pus, etc. If its a big problem, you may want to consider having them removed. But if you can otherwise control the problem, I'd try that first. Tonsillectomy for an adult is not fun.

Edit: There are many reasons for having a weak immune system. I listed a few above. One could be not getting enough quality sleep...that's when your body does its repair work. Other illnesses can suppress your immune system...The HIV crack was uncalled for, but that is an extreme example. Improving your diet and aggressive antioxidant supplementation is your best bet.

you are a wus

You're probably HIV positive.

Large tonsils!

Have you had your tonsils out? If you are experiencing constant sore throats maybe you need to talk to your family doctor about getting them out!

Up your vitamin C intake.
Shine on..........!

Could be that if you still have your tonsils, they now need to come out. Go to a doctor and find out why...

You might have a weak immune system.

because u sleep with the fan on at night
thats what happens to me to like if i fall asleep with my celing fan on i end up waking up with a real bad soar throat.

hope i hepled.

Probably just some medical condition. It happens to some people. Ask your doctor.
To get rid of them, try gargling cayenne pepper in water.

Stop taking it up the mouth....... :P jk its a virus

Are you a smoker? If not, then see a doc. You might have chronic allergies, you might have a baterial infection, or you might have an active virus. Your bedroom might also be too dry, so maybe a humidifier would help. Drink lots of water.

BECAUSE YOU ARE TESTITOUT08 !!!!

Could be constant post-nasal drip from allergies. This causes mucos to run down the back of your throat and makes it sore and raw. Allergy meds help.

if you are getting sore throats all the time, it's a sign of irritation or infection. It could be a result of a bad immune system (like AIDS), or a food allergy that you don't know about, or pollution.

I remember once I lived in the downtown, and had a slow steady cough. I visited my relatives outside the city, the cough went away. I went back, the cough started up again, JUST AS SOON as I got back.

Having forced air fans blowing dust around can make a difference too. When I moved to an apartment with a radiator, I coughed a lot less.

you are really sick. See you doctor, take your medication. Close the computer. Take a lot of rest.

Constant sore throats could be from many reasons. It would be helpful to know a bit more about when you get them, do you cough or are just sore, has a doctor seen them?, etc...

A sore throat could be caused by drainage running down the back of your throat. People who have allergies can have a little post-nasal drip that causes irritation. Acidic foods can cause irritation as well as colds - if you have frequent colds, you can have a sore throat with it.

Sore throats can be caused by enlarged tonsils - tonsils are lymphatic tissue - anytime there is an infection - minor too - in the mouth or throat, they can swell which can make your throat sore. Strep throat and mono can cause sore throats.

Being a smoker or around smokers can cause sore throats too - the secondhand smoke causes irritation to the back of your throat.

The best bet would be to A - talk to your doctor and B - start keeping a notebook about your sore throat so you can see if there is a pattern -- what were you doing before and when it started, what did you eat, where were you, any associated symptoms, time of year, etc... if you start seeing a pattern, you can then determine why.

you keep putting things down their jk sorry you set me up for that
