  • Normal blood glucose should be around 100mg/dL. Are you sure that you have calibrated and run any controls if you are using a glucometer? 3 mg/dL isn't compatible with life.

Last night I was so badly hypo I rang the doctor who told me to eat another mars bar and wait 20 mins and then ring for an ambulance. I ate the mars bar and became uncoscious, alone in my flat before I could ring for an ambulance. I was still hypo - but not as bad - until I came round five hours later. I too am fighting an infection and I would say it is better to allow sugars to run slightly higher during the night. It is a blessed nuiscance this thing. All I can say is, 3 is too low. Perhaps not adjust the night meds, let it go a bit higher and then increase the morning meds - with food of course.

I hope and pray that we will be better in time for Christmas. Sorry I can be of no more help. I am not an expert, but I seem to know more about it than my GP.
