Im going to take a cold medicine that will make me drowsy? Any advice?!

Question: It's suppose to work for 8 hours, and I guess I'm going to sleep at 12. If i wake up at 7, but take a bit less, is that fine?

And also, will it still take affect? I'm in high schoo, so i'm going to be writing tests tomorrow, and dont want to be drowsy.

The medicine is Dimetapp

The medicine is Dimetapp

Dimetapp has diphenhydramine usually---or BENEDRYL as it's main ingredient in it. I would recommend taking it a bit EARLIER if you can, and drink LOTS of fluid in the morning to rehydrate yourself. 3 cups is plenty though of WATER.

If you are going to BED at midnight, and you are home, if you CAN, take it at 11pm....that will give it time to get IN your system and WORK, so you will go to sleep at midnight....then, when you get up at 7, it will have worked for 8 hours.

Take it early, go to bed early and eat a good breakfast when you get up. You should be fine - maybe only a tiny bit drowsy but it does not affect your thinking ability.

dont take the medicine then if it will make you drowsy

yea drive a car

Take the recommended dosage, go to bed earlier and allow for 10 hours of sleep.

Take the medicine earlier and go to sleep before 12---try 10:00. When we are sick we need more rest to get better! Take a warm bath--relax and head to bed.

In the morning you should be fine. Everyone is different so you could feel a little groggy. Eat a substantial breakfast..Include some hot cocoa because that has a small amount of caffeine in it.

Well...if your taking something that is going to put you to sleep, our answers wont matter as you wont read them till tomorrow, though I'll bet you'll dream about me.
