Can anyone explain why black woman do not succumb to the anorexic disease?!

Question: we supposely have high statistics in other maladies.

Answers: we supposely have high statistics in other maladies.

It's purely social. One theory: In "black society," it is acceptable for a woman to be of average weight, curvy, or heavy. "White society" demands its women to be underweight or on the low end of average. Makes sense. How many super-skinny famous black women are there, compared to super-skinny famous white women?

how many black public figures do you really see that look anorexic? Black girls are given a better perception of beauty when it comes to weight...i mean, lets compare halle barry with nicole richie

Some do. You cannot make blanket observations of a race like that...not even your own.

I honestly don't know if any of us do or not but I do know that most of us are comfortable with our physical appearances. We prefer curves and definition.

If that's true, it's gotta have something to do with different beauty ideals. Maybe black women want to have curves instead of looking like toothpicks?

I don't think that statement is totally true across the board. Look at Star Jones, for example. She seems anoerexic to me, dont know why.

I'm sure that some do. Saying they don't is like the crazy notion that Blacks don't get depressed or commit suicide.

Its cuz white guys like skinny little girls, and black guys like thick girls. I don't know why this is. probably because of the image tv has given both groups. So i would say that black girls arn't worried about being skinny, cuz they know they can find a black guy who wants a thick girl. As for white girls, they are more pron to anorexia because that is the image they think they have to fit into. Its TV's fault!
