Is there anyone with first hand experience with Multiple Sclerosis?!

I have first hand experience with MS since I was diagnosed with MS 10 years ago. My advice is to read as much as you can about MS, the symptoms, the treatments and the current research. Have you registered with your local National MS Society? When you do you should ask them for a newly diagnosed packet. You can also find out about local support groups for newly diagnosed. I run a large, chatty MS Yahoo Group called MSersLife and I would welcome you to join us. You can ask any question you want and have someone to talk to now. The link is below. MS can be a scary diagnosis because it affects each person differently. We never know from day to day what will happen for us but if you have friends to talk to, complain to, ask questions and just visit about your daily challenges and life in general it does make things so much easier. I was diagnosed with MS many years ago..I know first hand how scary it can be. I will be honest , MS isn't always easy, but it is far from the worst disease out there. There have been so many new meds developed in the last 10 years.
My best advise is do your research on the disease modifying injections, see which best fits your needs and lifestyle and get on one of them. I am on Betaseron and haven't had an exacerbation in almost 8 years
Also take care of yourself..eat right, watch your weight, eat right exercise and stay POSITIVE ! Remember MS isn't a death sentence..Most of us lead very active, productive lives
