Question about a mole. Worried?!
Question: I have a fairly good sized dark mole by my armpit which had been checked in the past and was deemed ok by my doctor. I recently noticed a growth coming out of it. It is a small "shoot" like thing of a bit lighter color. I am going to call my doctor tomorrow. I am very worried however. Should I be?

A "Changing mole" is a classical symptom of some types of skin cancer. So this should alert you to seek medical advice. Of course, this might turn out to be something trivial. But who knows? Your doctor will take a history, do an examination, suggest further investigations, and these are the things that he needs to determine whether it's a skin cancer, or it's something trivial.

don' t be too worried but stay concerned. i would ask your doctor if it is possible to cut or laser it out.
if that mole has alwyas been there, no. stuff always grows out of moles. call your doctor though. you can always get it removed.
I wouldn't be worried. Just get it taken off. Why is it still there? It only takes a few minutes and it doesn't hurt. I think that Arizona, the state I live in, should give every new resident a free coupon for their first melanoma removal.
