I do it too sometimes, becomes one of those habits like biting your nails, etc. Most people I know shake their legs sometimes when sitting but don't even notice it. As long as its only your legs when sitting I wouldn't worry too much. I noticed one thing that helps is to have your feet flat on the floor. If I sit with just my front half of my feet on the floor and my heels in the air my legs tend to bounce. It may help to cross your legs. It's probably just an unconscious habit, and will probably be made worse by caffeine. Unless it gets worse or anything, I wouldn't worry too much about it

Perhaps you have extra energy...

Try consuming less caffeine, walking/jogging more, or eating less.

early onset parkinson's perhaps.

Restless legs syndrome : you shake your legs during your sleep, and feel all the obnoxious things when you're awake. I had that. There is a very good medication now for it: RLS is something neurological, not causes known. I got cured.
Go to your doctor asap and you'll be given a medication.RLS disrupts your sleep, you awake when your legs jump. You'll be Ok.
Good luck

Some form of psychosis. Almost like when you walk a long an extremely long fence, you may take a stick and run it along the fence. Kramer called it the Jimmy-leg. Have you ever noticed people with certain mental illnesses, rock back and forth, back and forth.

I suggest you seek the advice of a physician.
