I have a cold and feel like crap any remidies?!

Question: There are as many remedies for the common cold as there are years that it has been around. Some of them outrageous and silly, and some of them beneficial.

Your body does a good job of fighting off the common cold by itself. The best thing you can do is help it do it's job.

Your body wants:

1) rest
2) hydration (drink water)
3) nutrition

Rest is the most helpful, and the most ignored advice.

Drinking water hydrates your body quite well. Hydration basically means putting water in you. Yes, juice and vitamin C are good, but Vit C does -not- cure the common cold.

Eating - Just because you are sick doesn't mean your body doesn't want food. Soup is a nice option - feels good going down, and it's easy to eat.

If you want a quick fix, there isn't one. If you have specific symptoms, over the counter cold stuff helps a bit. Of course, they treat the symptoms, and not the cause. Also, if you feel a bit better, you will be more likely to ignore the first thing: rest.

Rest up and take care!

:)

HOT soup, ginger ale, and orange juice. Live off of these items for one day, and you'll feel better.

Sometimes when I am sick (which is alot!) I go into the bathroom and run a hot as you can stand it bath with lavender salt rocks to go in the tub and light a few arma theropy candles put a towel over my eyes and soak in the hot water. After the bath I drink some hot tea with lemon. Hopefully this makes you feel better.
