Can I leave my Herpes STI untreated as the symptoms goes by itself in 2-6 weeks?!

Question: Yes, you don't need treatment, the virus will go into the dormant ohase on its own. All the drugs they give you do is reduce the symptoms, they don't get rid of the virus, which you will have for life, so there is no need to treat it. I don't take anything for mine.

Actually, you don't get more and painful outbreaks if you don't take meds. The symptoms get less with time anyway - after 2 years, my outbreaks last about 48 hours on average and the most they are is uncomfortable, never painful. Why take anything for that?

Sure, as long as you don't mind the pain and frequent outbreaks. The medications only help reduce the frequency of eruptions, it doesn't cure it.

Yes, Ive never taken the medication, Ive had it for 8 months now and have had about 3 outbreaks, with only one painful one, which I think I caused. The meds are for people that want herpes for the rest of their lives, there is a cure for herpes, you just have to find it on your own, dont let the pharmaceuticals fool you into believing otherwise.

Please get it treated. You'll be spreading it to everyone with whom you have sex for the rest of your life. By going on Valtrex, you're lowering the risk of giving it to your partner. You can spread herpes with no visible symptoms.
Oh, and the symptoms will most likely come back, especially when you're sick / immunosuppressed.

Herpes doesn't have a cure, as it is recurrent. It can heal, but it will reapear. There are medications in the market that help with the pain and frequency of outbreaks. Stress and life style affect the outbreaks as well. It's your choice not to take medication, but inform yourself about the advantages and disadvantages of doing so.

If you leave herpes untreated you run the risk of having more and painful outbreaks. The risk of spreading herpes to other areas of your body like eyes or ears is very high with or without medication. Drs. advise not to touch the affected area and wash hands to prevent spreading it. Herpes is for life and will affect your sex life and others around you. You can live life even with this STD by taking precautions when having sexual contact with others, eating healthy, having low stress and having a good attitude toward the illness. ALWAYS wear a condom even if you don't have an outbreak. If you have sex with an HIV infected person you run the risk of contracting the virus if you have an outbreak yourself. This is research.

depends if u can deal with the pain of the outbreaks and if u want them to last 2-6 weeks. if not i would get some meds to help supress them and reduce the durration and can also help prevent spreading them. also vitamines can help boost your immune system and can help prevent an outbreak. i would talk to your doctor if your outbreaks are really bothering u and see if they can suggest something to help u out.
