Is there any over-the-counter help for pink eye?!

Question: I think I have the beginning stages of pink eye. Is there anything over the counter that will help? My doc is out of town.

There is, but it doesn't work. I went to a doctor with a possible case of pink eye and brought the OTC medication with me and she told me not to use it and that it was worthless.

actually, I used the OTC treatment when I had pinkeye and it cleared me up right away - but I also washed my hands and did all the classic stuff that you're supposed to do to keep from spreading the infection. Report It

  • nope. mix salt and water together, and try to rinse your eye out with that.

Unfortunately, there is not. Since Pink Eye is bacterial, you'll need to see a doctor to properly treat it.

You will need to see a doctor for treatment. In the meantime, soak of teabag in warm water and apply one to each eye. The tannic acid will help to soothe the area and take away some of the itching and swelling.
