Answers: my mom took the flu shot this weekend, and she started getting sick a few days later...

The flu shot contains a small amount of live flu virus. It CAN give you a touch of the flu but doesn't always. It is done like that so your body can produce the correct anti-bodies to counteract the flu. If you do get a touch of the flu after you've had the shot, it should not last more than a couple of days.

I have had the flu shot a few times over the years (last year was the most recent) and I have never gotten sick from the shot or the flu. Some people do get sick and some don't - I think it depends on your body chemistry &/or the current state of your immune system at the time you get the shot.

Good luck - I hope your mom feels better soon

its probally just the side effects.

Yes, it gives you a small dose of the flu so your immune system can become immune to the virus. Thats why I dont get a flu shot, it makes you sick.

ur mom is proablby allergic 2 a medicine in he stuf 4 a flu shot a flu shot prevents the flu

yes it gives side effects

you fight virus with virus. you build a immunity.
it's extracted from cows.

no it dose not give you the flu

she probably got the common cold not the flu. yes, when you get the shot its technically the virus itself but its very very weak. so the chances of your mother getting the flu are very very slim. good luck

No but a lot of people get mild Flu like symptons for a couple of days after taking one. Pretty normal especially if it is the first time you have had a Flu shot.

it could be side effets from the shot. i get a cold after mine

Not anymore...the OLD version of the FLU shot used a live form of the flu virus which built up your immune system against the flu however did make you get some flu-like symptoms. The new FLU shot which is out now and pretty much they only use is dead form of the FLU virus so it does not make you sick.
