Is there an M.D. who can help with a question?!

Question: I know you can't diagnose me on Yahoo answers.
I do have an appointment with my physician to obtain a holter monitor, but would appreciate any insight in the meantime.

I have traditionally had high blood pressure, which has been difficult to moderate, even on various medications. I am thin, and do not eat an unhealthy diet. Lately, I have been feeling dizzy and fatigued - when I take my BP reading at home, it is sometimes 90/60 - extremely low for me. Sometimes, I awaken at night with a brief bout of tachycardia. I guess I am afraid I might be developing heart failure (I do have MVR, but only mild at last echo). Any thoughts would be appreciated, as my appointment isn't until 8 more days. Thanks.

I would suggest to keep a log of Blood Pressure readings at a daily basis and jot down when you experience symptoms like you mentioned (dizzyness, tachycardia). If your blood pressure is normally not as low as 90/60 your private MD might have to titrate your medication dosages in order for you not to dip too low where you feel symptoms. Tachycardia might be attributed to your body compensating for having a low BP. Your heart will speed up to supply your body with the oxygen needed to "operate". In either case, definitely go to your doctor and have the holter placed if deemed necessary....but obviously seek emergency medical attention if your symptoms get worse (chest pain, fainting, or loss of consciousness, etc.)

a good visit to your local hooker strip will do the job
