what has actually happened is that you are meant to have fine hairs down your throat to catch infection and bacteria from enteing your lungs. When you smoke the smoke burns these hairs and destroys them.

When you stop smoking these hairs start to regrow and your throat will feel ticklish and thick and worse than when you were smoking.

Please keep it up. Not smoking is worth it. and it certainly saves money.

when i quit smoking the same thing happend to me. its only anxiety and it will go away if you dont start smoking again. good luck and merry christmas. if you started drinking more caffein since you quit smoking that would have made it worse.

I've heard that happens when you quit, that your breathing is worse for awhile. As far as the elephant on your chest- some people say that when they are having a heart attack. If you've had heart problems before, it's time to see a doc.

same thing happened when i quit. it will take awhile but keep it up you will feel much better in a few months. your lungs are working really hard to get rid of all the crap in them.

hey, congrats on quitting, that's pretty special of you. Way to be, and I hope you can keep it up. But regarding your question, I think that's normal and it's just a symptom of withdrawal. You just need to wait it out and it will get better. Congrats again!
