Should I go see a Doctor?!

Question: About a week and a half ago, my heart started feeling weird..It doesn't hurt, but every now and then it sort of aches. This could be my ribs or lungs, its just in that general area. Then about a week ago I started having a little trouble breathing. Like I can breathe fine, but it feels like my chest is tight and I feel like I need to actually THINK about breathing in order to actually breathe. Also I have been a bit congested.

My mom has bad asthma and so she thought it could be that, so I started taking some of her inhalers (nothing that would hurt me) and they work alittle but like 20 minutes later its back to the same thing. Do you think it could be allergies? (I have never had any allergies in my life and I'm 19) or Asthma? or something worse?

I KNOW I can call a doctor, please don't tell me too. I just want to see if anybody has had anything similar.

Thanks!

It could be something really simple but do you really want to take a chance? You are obviously worried about it so put your mind at ease.

I had a very sharp pain in my chest a while back and worried that there was something seriously wrong. Called my GP who diagnosed that I had spasm in a muscle between my ribs. I apologised for wasting his time but he replied that he would rather have had the call than not.

It can't be that fun to have to work so hard to breathe so please get some help. Your Mum's asthma meds may not be what you need and may mask other symptoms that would help to get to the bottom of your problem so make sure you tell them when you get medical help (and be ready for the lecture about not taking meds that are for someone else!)

yeah seek medical advice immediatly...

if you have any concern about anything, u should always go to a doctor.

males life expectancy is lower then womens becuase the simple fact they go to the doctors much more often.

I know it prob doesn't help for me to say no, I've never had that. But maybe it could be bronchitis?

i used to experience slight pain and tightness in my chest but that was because i was a dancer before, and when i got winded that would happen, my doctor advised me to keep my body hydrated at all times, at least 10 glasses per day...don't know if this helps, but yes, it's happened to me, and i saw my doctor....chestpains, slight or severe are othing to play with.

I had collapsed lungs, both sides twice each side, but the first one was tight in the chest and i walked about for four days like it,please go see your doctor.

Anxiety can also cause those symptoms.

Don't Call A Doctor. See A Doctor Yourself. AND RIGHT NOW BEFORE IT GETS ANY WORSE!

if it only happened once i woulnt worry ive had a problem like that but it went away

my advice is not 2 worry and 4 get it

Probably a bad case of asthma. You should see a doctor. YES, I READ THE WHOLE THING I KNOW YOU CAN. So don't even ***** to me about that!

ive been having heart palpitations for a couple of months now, im 18, havent changed my diet or anything like that and i also get an achy heart lol. i had an ecg and blood test of friday and waiting results. my doctor said it can be a missed beat and not to worry cos im so young. maybe you have something similar? go to the doctor anyway but ive been getting an achy heart for years! lol good luck hun x

There is no other go than meeting a chest physician or allergy specialist because another man may be having the same symptoms but treatment need not be the same.

I never had the similar thing like you.....Ssoorrrryy....

go see a doctor u may be having angina or a lung problem .

first off, don,t use the inhaler, there is no harmless ones.my son has asthma. and yes,I have had to think about breathing to breath, thats anxiety.and that too will cause tightness in the chest.if you don,t want to call a "Dr." then you have to get a grip, something must be bothering you.and the only reason the inhalers worked for you a little is because you had it in your mind that they would, but it still didn,t help did it.maybe your just starting to have sympathy reactions to your mothers asthma, did she have an attack lately? sorry friend,I know you don,t want to hear this, but see a Dr. and nip it in the bud, befor it gets worse.

Maybe the flu.

This is classic Anxiety.......

I get it all the time.

When it happens...Take deep breaths through your nose and blow them out through your lips slowely. Do this 10 times and you will start to relax.

Then see a Dr about Anxiety Meds....
