Gross Gash!! I'm going to cry =( Please help!?!

Question: II tried to pop a pimple last night but turns out I couldn't and I ended up aggravating the skin realllyy bad and now it's turned into this large, red blotchy thing.

How can I prevent it from scarring?
How can I make it heal fast? I have polysporin on it. It really hurts and I think it's infected.

(btw never gonna try and ever pop a pimple again.)

I've done this too many times to count. Take a deep breath, don't stress over it (as much as possible at least) and don't try touching it or aggrivating it further. The best thing you can do is take gentle care of the rest of your face. for the area, I would recommend gentle cleansing with a warm wash cloth, but don't rub it. Then, wait until it isn't open or oozing (after a day or so) and follow up with some hydrocortisone cream (will help a little with redness and swelling) and alternate that with vitamin E oil (take this orally too, I swear it helps) Also, taking zinc orally has ALWAYS speeded healing time for me (but not too much at a time it will make you feel ill). I'm dealing with a stupid zit right now too, I feel your pain :) And I promise you, the skin is more resilient than you would think. It's just gonna take a little time. Give it a week and let me know how it goes!

If it is infected you should call your doctor. As it's on your face, I wouldn't wait or fool around with over the counter preparations. There is something available that is supposed to help prevent scars from forming, but you really do not know how many layers of skin you damaged. That's why you need to have a doctor or dermatologist look at it and get the right stuff on it. Also, if you have pus forming & oozing (clear or yellowish), you may need an antibiotic. So, please get your butt to a professional and keep that handsome face of yours looking good!

maybe proactive
