are you talking about those really hard knots that people get on their skin that hurts like crazy?
they come from moist..and you either have to have them sergically removed or bring them to a head with salt, hot water.

boils are an abscess that has not reached the skin (and, sometimes, it never reaches the skin and must be lanced to allow the puss to escape). this is a procedure that must not be attempted unless you know what you're doing. an abscess is an area filled with puss caused by the body rejecting a toxin/etc. the body eliminated toxins through organs of elimination-kidneys/liver/ and the biggest organ of elimination in the entire body ---the skin (one of the skin's functions is to eliminate waste)
they are very painful cist like pimples that are full of puss and blood.. they are very painfull... i would get one like 4 times a year.. and i would let it burst on its own wow it is very smelly until finally a doctor knew he had to dig in and rip out the root of it out.. trust me it was a big hole but it has never come back that was like 8 years ago..
