Could be exzema. That creates redness with flakiness. Other possibility Psoriasis. Your doctor will be able to tell either by looking at it or taking a little scraping of it to have the lab examine it under a microscope.

Don't worry about it, your doctor will sort it out for you!

go and see your doc about it,perhaps she/he can remove it via laser,i had a horrible thing under my nose and the gp surgically burnt it off, they numb the area first, but it was removed and it has'nt returned since.

yeah.. if it happens again do wait a year... it could be like a growth

it could be most anything. you really need to go to a dermatolagist. if you have had this for a year it could be a basil cell that needs to be treated. it is a form of skin cancer. and i dont want to scare you. just have it looked at. i dont know where you live but here in florida it is common because of all the people who like getting in the sun. to be safe get this looked at o.k?? it may turn out to be nothing but just be safe about it!!!

Sounds like atopic dermatitis -
Its defining characteristic is intense itching, which is one of the most common reasons that patients seek medical attention for this condition.
Try using Aveeno - products - and until then here are a few tips. Do check in with your MD though -

Use gentle, fragrance-free and mild cleansers
? Frequently moisturize the skin to prevent dryness and cracking
? Limit contact with skin irritants
? Avoid sweating and overheating
? Avoid sudden changes in temperature and humidity
? Refrain from scratching and rubbing when possible
? Keep fingernails short to avoid puncturing the skin during scratching
? Wear loose-fitting cotton clothes
? Double-rinse clothes when washing; wash new clothes before wearing
? Recognize and limit emotional stress (keep a food/mood journal)
? Follow prescribed treatment regimens
