"If your child has any of the following problems, I suggest that you take sugar completely out of his/her diet for at least ten days.

-difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
-difficulty concentrating
-low grades in school
-allergies
-frequent headaches
-hyperactive or listless
-overweight
-many dental fillings
-cannot go for more than four hours without eating
-colds or bacterial infections more than once a year"

The problem with limiting sugar intake of your child is that sugar is an addictive substance. And your child will suffer withdrawal symptoms (i.e. temper tantrums), when you try to limit his or her sugar intake.

everybody is different so it is hard to say but for a child I would say less than 25 grams of sugar a day!

A child with diabetes or a "regular" blood type child? I'm type 1 diabetic, so NO sugar is the best amount, but since that is not being realistic, try natural sugars...like apples, fruit and such.Avoid candy and cookies as much as possible.

A healthy body can consume incredible amounts of sugar with no lasting ill effects. A diabetic should avoid it completely. That being said, there's no need to consume table sugar at all. It's a useless food. If you want to avoid type 2 diabetes, you simply have to follow a healthy diet and exercise routine. BTW, sugar doesn't cause diabetes, if that's where you're going with this.

It 's hard to say because it's different form child to child. If the child's weight is ok and is otherwise healthy then don't worry about it.

Also, it's been widely dispelled as a myth that sugar causes hyperactivity so sugar is not the evil it once was.

Sugar is addicting, so I would keep it to the minimum. You have to realize that we intake sugars (in different forms) in the form of fruit, vegetables.. also starchy food provides us with sugars.
All we eat and don't use is stored by ours cells. If the body realizes it needs fuel, it will tell the cells to release sugars, and that is how we keep ourselves from becoming obese or from having diabetes. If you keep eating sugars, your body will never know if it really needs fuel or not, so it wont never tell your cells to release sugars. That makes the cells lazy and forget how to do it, which could lead to diabetes and obesity. Haven't you seen people that eat sweets everyday, and when they don't eat for a while they get shaky and dizzy and could even faint? Their cells don't know how to respond anymore. They don
