How do you stop coughing?!

Question: the past 2 days i've tried throat spray, 3 different kinds of cough syrup, cough drops/hard candy/mints, tylenol...still cant quit coughing

throat is a little sore & kinda itchy & i'm hoarse, getting abdominal pains from coughing so much

is there anything else to try before needing to go get it checked out?

gargle warm salty water, it's gotta be really salty. they try some tea with honey and lemon no suger :)
