Severe headache, fever, and swollen lymph nodes all over neck???!

Question: Five days ago, I started feeling a little bit under the weather. That feeling rapidly progressed into a full-blown illness with severe neck pain and a low-moderate fever. Swallowing has been excruciatingly painful, but not because I had a "sore throat" -- it's because the glands all over my neck are visibly swollen.

I went to urgent care the night before last, and the doctor performed a strep test, which came back negative. I understand that there is a 20% chance of error with that test, but I do not believe that I have strep throat because, as I mentioned, my throat is not actually sore -- my neck is severely swollen and sore.

I was prescribed Zithromax, and have been on it for 36 hours. My condition has only gotten worse, if anything. I took lots of advil and aleve, which is why I am able to type this right now. Prior to this, the back of my head was throbbing so badly (severe migraine).

I have no appetite.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Any help = MUCH appreciated

Zithromax is a fairly strong antibiotic.
Maybe you did have an allergic reaction to the antibiotic or the does was not enough, or maybve the dosing intervals.

Swollen lymph nodes - you should be really worried about this.

i'd go back to urgent care. Doesn't sound like the doctor was right and you might be having an allergic reaction to the zithromax.
