Vinegar is actually a 5% solution of acetic acid. It can corrode metal, so I'm not sure if it is a good idea to use it as a sterilizing agent when metal is involved. Not long ago I had the brilliant idea of using a paint sprayer to spray vinegar to kill mold. Even though I rinsed out the sprayer by running plain water through it after I was done, it never worked again after that. Try taking some razor parts and putting them in vingegar and see what happens by the next day. You might need to find some other method.

If you like oil and vinegar on your salad, be forewarned that vinegar can eat the enamel right off your teeth.

it actually depends on the kind of bacteria.

I am not sure I trust vinegar for sterilization. It's a powerful substance, but I don't think it can kill all kinds of bacteria.

Why don't you use a mild solution of bleach and water? A tablespoon of bleach to a gallon of water will kill germs. This is what is used in nursing homes to sterilize dishwashers, dishes, and all kinds of gadgets. Don't use pure bleach, because it can also corrode or eat away metals, but a mild solution would be harmless.
