Swollen lymph node? Please help?!

Question: Ok, so I had a swollen lymph node under my left underarm in late October and the doctor gave me medicine and it went away in less than a few days. It was about the size of a pea and red and it was somewhat painful.

However, a few days ago, I noticed that I had something similar to it under my right underarm. It's slightly smaller than a pea, and it isn't red and it doesn't hurt much at all...unless I press on it very, very hard. It's hard and round, but almost feels somewhat like fat. I'm pretty sure it's another lymph node and I'll have my mom make an appointment with the doctor again, but I'm jw what it could be now. My mom thinks it's a pimple, but I don't think so. I am 14, btw. Any guesses? Think it is another swollen lymph node? Don't they usually hurt, or no?

Thanks in advance!

Lymph nodes less than a pea size are generally considered harmless unless associated with some underlying disease which has to be ruled out.
But i suggest you should see the doctor again.

Might be a boil, but only your doctor can tell you .

It's possible about the lymph node, but it could also be an ingrown hair. Only the doc will know hon and best of luck.

Mine don't normally hurt.
But I only get them on my neck so maybe its different.

I get them all the time and they go away by themselves normally within a few weeks sometimes even a few days.

it might just be a cyst. i had one on my shoulderblade. at first it didnt hurt at all, i thought it was a pimple too. but then it got infected and it had to be drained, then it came back and it had to be cut out.

best to take care of it now.

Swollen lymph nodes
Introduction
Swollen lymph nodes combined with other signs and symptoms are a common reason people, particularly children, visit their doctors. Most often, lymph nodes swell and become inflamed as a result of an infection. However, there are many possible causes of swollen lymph nodes, including autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, noncancerous (benign) tumors and cancer.

Your lymph nodes, also called glands, play a vital role in your body's ability to fight off viruses, bacteria and other causes of illnesses. Some 600 lymph nodes are situated throughout your body, with the majority in your head and neck. The lymph nodes that most frequently swell are in your neck, under your chin, in your armpits and in your groin. The site of the swollen lymph nodes may help identify the underlying cause.

Treatment for inflamed, swollen lymph nodes, also known as lymphadenitis, depends on the cause. In some cases, over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers and warm compresses may be all you need. For more serious cases, treatment of swollen lymph nodes involves treating the underlying cause.

Signs and symptoms

Your lymphatic system comprises a network of organs, vessels and glands situated throughout your body. A lymph node is a small, round or bean-shaped cluster of cells covered by a capsule of connective tissue. The cells are a combination of lymphocytes
