Herpes question!?!

Question: My girlfriend has herpes on her mouth and gets cold sores. Thats the only place she has herpes. I haven't gotten it from kissing her and weve been dating 9 months. We were kissing while she has a cold sore today thats almost healed and i went down on her and gave her oral. Do you think she is going to get herpes on her vagina from that?

Here is the REAL answer:

If your girlfriend has an HSV-1 infection on her mouth, she wouldn't get it again on her vagina (her existing antibodies would prevent a genital infection of HSV-1)

You may already have had an HSV-1 infection at some point in your life. You can find out by asking for HSV serology (Herpes blood test). If so, neither of you have to worry.

I dont know buddy thats a tuff one
chances are your okay as long as it was healed and made sure it wasn't open but hate to break it to you if you kissed her and it wasn't healed chances are you got infected and you got her little special place the herpes too
best of luck to ya

youre really supposed to wait a few days even after it is healed just to be sure...if you are ever hesitant about it, dont take the chance. i know its hard when ur caught up in the moment but its not worth the long term stuff. chances are shes totally fine, i know as far as genital herpes the other parts of the body build up an immunity to it so it only breaks out in the general spot where you have it. so it may be the same when it comes to your situation...there is always that small chance but i wouldnt worry too much about it because the sore was not active and at it's worst. good luck to you..and try to be more careful!

It's possible, but only if you contracted the virus.

You wont know for a little while.. But YES she could have it. That is a BIG NO NO!!!

there is a strong possability. u can still pass them on even when u don't have them or if they are healing (its called viral shedding by the way). if it wasn't possable then i wouldn't have genital herpes now because thats how i got herpes. tell her that if she has any symptoms or an outbreak then she should get tested for herpes. if your answer was real BCJ then i'm a freak of nature because i get cold sores and genital herpes outbreaks.
