Raw throat making me dry heave...?!
Question: I had a full-blown cold Christmas Eve, but luckily it's subsided. Unfortunately, I can't get rid of the massive congestion and sore throat pain. I've tried EVERYTHING. Nasal spray, Alka-seltzer, Dayquil, Nyquil... It's really starting to piss me off. I just started a new job where I have to read out loud quite often and I can't hardly because I'm so congested and it hurts my throat. Help? :(

For the throat pain, try hot saltwater gargles and Chloraspetic anesthetic throat spray or lozenges. For the congestion - not clear if it's chest or nasal - try Mucinex and/or Sudafed nasal Decongestant. Use saline nasal spray (Ocean is one brand) as often as you like to help liquify nasal secretions making them easier to expel. Increase water intake to thin all secretions.
